Work Experience / Community Service / Professional Placement

Availability

  • Work Experience, Community Service and Industry Placements are in high demand across Whitehorse Manningham Libraries.
  • Approval is subject to meeting eligibility and operational requirements.
  • Work Experience placements are generally for one week during school term times
  • Community Service placements are for 1-2 hours per week during school term times
  • Placements are not available during school holidays or on weekends.
  • Placements are open to people in Year 10 and above.

APPLICATION DATES (Work Experience):
Work experience placement positions across Whitehorse Manningham Libraries are available for 2019.
Online applications will only be accepted from Monday 17 December 2018 until Tuesday 30 April 2019 (unless all placements are filled prior to this date).

APPLICATION DATES (Community Service):
Community service placement positions across Whitehorse Manningham Libraries are available for 2019.
Online applications will only be accepted from Monday 17 December 2018 until Sunday 30 June 2019 (unless all placements are filled prior to this date).

APPLICATION DATES (Industry Placements):
Industry placement positions across Whitehorse Manningham Libraries are available for 2019. Priority is given to students working towards a library studies qualification.

APPLICATIONS: Structured Workplace Learning
Structured Workplace Learning placements for secondary school students in Years 10 to 12 undertaking Vocational Education Training (VET) will be offered at Whitehorse Manningham Libraries in 2019.

Eligibility requirements for applicants

  • Must be 15 years old or over for all types of placement
  • Secondary Students undertaking Work Experience OR
  • Students undertaking Community Service as a component of school course work or an Award OR
  • Tertiary Students enrolled in a relevant discipline
  • Students 18 years or older require a current Working With Children Check (Volunteer)
